Put my name on the list for one as well. It really is a great idea. I will run this by our local Herald to see what we need to do to make it official.

Delighted at the response!
As soon as Her Excellency and all concerned approve, of course, and colors are agreed too, I would be happy to provide a hi res version of my drawing to be digitized. Can't wait to wear one!!
Too cool!!

As her Excellency says, usually they are made by the populous. I've
made them for her, Arielle, and Kari. If you send me a hi res coloring
book type image of what you want, I'd be happy to digitize it, and it
would be available for use by anybody that has an embroidery machine.
I can make .PES (Brother) files, and can export them for other formats
if needed (.SEW and .HUS), That would also give us an idea of stitch
count. If you go to an embroidery shop, things like this usually cost
anywhere from $1 to $3 per 1000 stitches. From the image posted
previously, I'm guessing a 4x4 one would probably be at least a 4,000
(depending on what is filled in, etc), and if the whole 4x4 circle is
filled in, you are probably looking at 9,000 (ish). Digitizing done at
a shop usually runs between $75 and $150 depending on complexity. I do
not charge SCAdians for digitizing work, but do need the high res
coloring book image to work from.

You can find my work (among others) at the sadly neglected and out of
date embroidery pages here:
