Holly, et all... This was my original point before it some how got way off track. Lets end the beating of the dead horse. But this is what I was poking at. Yes in a perfect world it would be easy, all would attend all the planning meetings and things go smoothly with no issues. In our world that is not the way it has been working at many events. So instead of just finger pointing to the offending single person, I wanted to put a few layers in place that would help avoid these issues. Never said it had to be hard, involved, blah blah blah...

Something simple to make those involved more involved and able to help. As far as the comment about archery being a "given" it is as much a "given" as any other marshal event and requires the most attention. I will stay vigilent to change things but without everyone's involvement it will never work. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Off the soap box and on to shooting!

If I may, as an archer who shot at HRM's, point out that it is hard for me to believe that just because the TA MIC wasn't at the planning meetings, archery got stuffed into a way small, potentially unsafe, and just barely workable corner. I scratch my head because the Baron of HF is indeed a TA Marshall, no?And had visited the site? And was at the meetings? So, dearest archers . . . I wish to see this thread end, really, because I am conflict avoidant in the extreme. But if the HRM planning meetings were all attended by an Atlantian TA Marshall, why did the range get so screwed just because the designated MIC was not in attendance? Just a needling question. (And from one who has already beat the horse that any MIC should be onsite ahead of time, etc. etc.)

At every shoot, at every meeting, if we are marshalls, safety should always be the collective responsibility of all, in addition to the MIC's. Several shoots in the past there have been unsafe situations and I was just another archer there and did not notice to flag anything and kicked myself later. Nowadays, I try to be one more set of critical eyes, in addition to an archer having her fun.

So let's get back to our game. Fall is coming fast and there are targets to make and Lochmere Arrows to win and novices to teach ...
