OK,

I have what may be a less then brilliant question.

What is the drive for the "Period" Classification?

I guess I am asking is, why people feel there is a need for a "Period"
hand bow classification?

It might help to understand the reason to help us understand the intent
of the rules on what is and what is not a "period" bow.
