M'Lords and M'Lady Marshals;

At University this last week end I got into a number of conversations about
how the Royal Rounds are to be kept and how the pages are to be displayed. I
made some statements and some agreements but (Murphy was there) some of the
things I said just didn't work out properly. But the final result is
basically as below.

MAIN TABLE
No change - The idea is to have a master table of ALL active archers that
have a royal round average.
No change - archers of multiple bow ability will be displayed for each type
of bow that they use.
No change - The scores will be kept from the present (rolling) date to
twelve (12) months in the past. If we were to start the new year on April 1,
then at that time all scores would drop to zero(0). Even thought the season
starts then we have in the past been keeping the scores to maintain the
average at twelve months.
No change - The color coding of the archer will display the archers average
of the three highest scores in the last twelve (12) months. All scores older
than 12 months old will drop off the accounting list. Old scores are
archived.
First change - Archers that have less then three royal rounds (2, 1, 0) WILL
NOT be displayed on this table.
Second change - There will be a new column (placement on table is score
keepers choice) that displays the highest ranking, or score (score keepers
choice), that the archer has achieved. Irrespective of the archers present
average. In keeping with the ruling that all archers will be displayed at
their 'working' level with acknowledgement of their highest skill level.

NON-AVERAGE ARCHERS TABLE - new table
First - Separate out all archers of all ranks from the main table that do
not have a complete royal round average. That is zero (0), one (1), or two
(2) royal round scores.
Second - Keep the archers in the exact same ranking position that they have
at this time. Example - Reynard de La Rochefoucauld keeps the rank of Grand
Bowman Elite in the non-average table (even with zero royal rounds).
Muirghen Rhuadh keeps the rank of Bowman. Etc.
Third - if any archer acquires an average (3 royal rounds) they are deleted
from this table and inserted into the main active archer table and the table
for their bow type.

CROSS BOW TABLE - new table
First - copy all the cross bow archers to the new table keeping the ranking
position, scores, average, etc. as the main active archery table.
Second - this table will always be a scoring and ranking copy of the cross
bow archers from the active main table.

RECURVE BOW TABLE - new table
First - copy all the recurve bow archers to the new table keeping the
ranking position, scores, average, etc. as the main active archery table.
Second - this table will always be a scoring and ranking copy of the recurve
bow archers from the active main table.

LONGBOW TABLE - new table
First - copy all the longbow archers to the new table keeping the ranking
position, scores, average, etc. as the main active archery table.
Second - this table will always be a scoring and ranking copy of the longbow
archers from the active main table.

Non of this changes the way we score and rank the archers in the kingdom. It
does add a few more things to better display each archers abilities.

The way the tables are to be displayed could be similar to the present or
varied drastically. The tables and other data could be on one web page or on
as many as the score keeper feels is appropriate. As long as all the data is
displayed and easily read and understood first by the judges and second by
all the archers in the kingdom.

The answer back from Lord Gruffudd concerning the Atlantian Server is as
follows:
!!>>>>
I have no problem with multiple people having access to the archery pages, I
will leave that judgment to Ignacio, as the result affects the pages that he
maintains. Now for the technical issues. The database isn't a problem,
MySQL will be installed in the near future, The issue is with ASP. At this
time I do not have a ASP module that runs with Apache, and really have no
plans to install one. However I am planning on installing PHP, which is
very similar to asp, and in fact there are asp to php converters out there.
Please keep this in mind when developing pages.

Also at the moment I am rather busy with work of my own and as such things
like installing PHP and MySQL are not in my most immediate plans, It will
be done, just not immediately <G>.

In Service,
Lord Gruffudd ap Cadfael (Carl Harris)
Web Minister, Kingdom of Atlantia
!!>>>>

I will work with whoever ends up being the score keeper on this issue.

If there are any other questions - do not hesitate to ask. I will try my
best to answer, and maybe I won't confuse the issue along the way.

Thanks

Igancio Erensaurlezelasgarria, Menditarra
