[Atlantia-Announce] Spring Crown Tournament Court Report

Unto the good populace of the Kingdom of Atlantia give greetings this 
fine day!

My apologies that this has not been posted before.

On the 6^th day of May, 2017, being the 52^nd year of the Society, Their 
Majesties of Atlantia, King Cuan and Queen Signy, did hold a Crown 
Tournament to determine Their Heirs.

In the morning, there was a grand procession of mighty warriors intent 
on making a claim to the Throne, and they were accompanied by their 
consort and inspiration, as well as friends and members of their households.

Prior to the procession, Their Majesties did open Their court, and call 
forth a young lady named Lexi.It seems that Lexi was having her birthday 
on the day of Crown Tournament, and in recognition of this, Their 
Majesties did present her with a scroll and a tiara, proclaiming her to 
be Princess for the day!

During the procession, as Lord Cormac ua Regain came forward, Their 
Majesties did present him with a Silver Osprey for his work as a fighter 
of Atlantia.

Later on in the procession, Their Majesties stopped Albrecht Wellman, 
and awarded him Arms right then and there.

As the procession ended, Their Majesties spoke of the tournament, he 
commanded the fighters to remember honor and chivalry, and then closed 
court.

As the many battles went on throughout the day, the new and different 
form for initial eliminations tested the MoLs, the heralds, and the 
fighters themselves.Many people commented then and since at how much 
they liked the format of Crown, and expressed surprise at how quickly 
and smoothly it seemed to go.

Eventually, however, the field was narrowed down to two.Duke Bryan of 
Sacred Stone and Count Amos le Pious.All eyes were upon the field of 
battle as these two mighty warriors struck at each other again and 
again.When the sounds of battle ceased, it was Count Amos le Pious who 
emerged victorious.Their Majesties Cuan and Signy did crown and proclaim 
Count Amos le Pious and Countess Kara Olafsdottir as the Prince and 
Princess, heirs to the throne of Atlantia!

As the fighters and populace relaxed, Their Majesties took the time to 
meet with Their various Orders and take care of some administrative duties.

In the evening, Their Majesties processed into court, followed by Their 
Highnesses and the Landed Baronages who were in attendance.Royal Court 
was opened, and Their Majesties greeted the crowd and spoke of how 
pleased They were at the event and how everything came together.

Baroness Avice of Lochmere was called into court, where she was praised 
for her hard work on the shields used in the shield tree.Their Majesties 
were pleased to award her a Fountain for this accomplishment.

But, having rewarded her for just 1 item of service that she has 
performed, Their Majesties felt that it was time to recognize Her 
Excellency for ALL of the service that she does to her Barony and her 
Kingdom, and thus the Order of the Golden Dolphin was summoned.A stunned 
Baroness Avice was welcomed warmly into the Order.

Lord Erikr Ulfr Thorrison was called forth into court, where he was 
Thanked by Their Majesties for the wonderful cordials that he makes, and 
was awarded a Coral Branch for his efforts.

The newcomers were called forward, and were greeted warmly by Their 
Majesties and Their Highnesses.Tokens for the newcomers to remember 
their day by were given out, and loud cheers were heard for the people 
that we hope to see again at many more events!

Lady Genvieive Dampier de la Marche was called forward and inducted into 
the Order of the Pearl.

Before the Order could disperse, Baron Raven MacGregor was called 
forward and also inducted into the Order of the Pearl.

The children was summoned into the Royal presence, where they were given 
chocolate, and then sent off to select toys from the Royal Toy Chest.

Their Majesties then consented to allow Their Excellencies of Marinus 
time to conduct a Baronial Court.

Kieren of Marinus was called forth and not only awarded arms, but given 
a Queen’s Order of Courtesy.

Lord Gawain de Barri was commanded to appear before Her Majesty, where 
he was thanked for all of his work, and given the Queen’s Order of Courtesy.

Their Majesties had Elizabeth Hatter and Layla Al’Alya, two young ladies 
who are sisters, brought before Them.Their Majesties were pleased at the 
words They had heard about these two young ladies, and decided to not 
only award them the Hippocampus, but to also Award them Arms.

Louis Renart was called to appear before the thrones of Atlantia, where 
he received his AoA.

Their Majesties had Lughaid O’ Muchada summoned into Their Presence, 
where They spoke of his service to the Barony and Kingdom, and thus 
awarded him with an Opal and his Arms.

Master Antonio Giordano da Sicilia, the Society Seneschal, was present 
for this Crown Tournament, and King Cuan had him called forth so that 
all could see the Seneschal of the Society.King Cuan was appreciative of 
all that Master Antonio has done, and thus did award him the Kings Award 
of Excellence.

Lady Syele von Dampach was called forth, carrying kittens, and knelt 
before Their Majesties.After the “oohing” and “ahhing” over the kittens 
died down, Their Majesties did present Lady Syele with a Coral 
Branch.Appropriately, the scroll had kittens as part of the illumination.

Lord Ragnar Leifsson was commanded into court.Their Majesties had heard 
of all of the heraldic consulting that Ragnar does, not only on-line but 
also running consult tables at various events, including this one.They 
were most pleased to present Lord Ragnarr with an Opal in appreciation 
of his work.

His Majesty paused court to admire the “Chalice of Virtue” that was 
given to Them at Coronation.It’s a clear bowl being held up by a sea 
horse, and was filled with candy.Their Majesties decided to pass it on 
to Their Excellencies of Stierbach.

Their Majesties then had the Triton Principal Herald call forth Lady 
Seraphina Delfino, the Kingdom Submissions Herald.Triton explained to 
all that Lady Seraphina had served 2.5 years as the Kingdom Submissions 
herald, and had processed and decided on around 1000 submissions each 
year for the Kingdom.It was noted with sadness that she is stepping down 
from the position, to take on the role of Ragged Staff herald, a 
position with the Society College of Arms.Their Majesties thanked 
Seraphina for her service, and decided that the best way would be to 
have the Order of the Golden Dolphin summoned, and Lady Seraphina inducted.

There being no further business, Their Majesties had Their court closed.

These events are accurate to the best of my recollection.
