Unto Your Majesties Logan and Esa, The Atlantian College of Heralds and
Scribes, and the populace of the Kingdom of Atlantia does Cian Triton,
Principal Herald of Atlantia send greetings this day!
On Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Coronation of Logan and Esa, held in
the Barony of Windmasters' Hill, Their Majesties Michael and Seonaid,
King and Queen of Atlantia, did process in before the populace to hold
Their final court.
After the Landed Barons and Baronesses reached Their thrones in this
Great Court, Their Majesties did bid the herald to have the populace be
seated, and to open Their court.
Their Majesties spoke briefly to the populace, welcoming them all to the
event, which would prove to be a wonderful and fun day for all
involved. They expressed Their thanks for the support that the populace
had given Them through Their Reign, and They were much appreciative.
Their Majesties had the Order of the Pearl summoned before Them, and
noted that there was one present who was not currently in that Order,
and They wished to rectify that. Lord Christophe of Grey was summoned
before the Royal Thrones, where he was inducted into the Order in
appreciation for all of his works in the arts and sciences, especially
where they pertained to archery. A stunned Lord Christophe accepted his
scroll, for it turns out that his Lady wife, Lady Eleanor of Grey, had
done the illumination on the scroll, and that Lord Christophe himself
had assisted her, without ever knowing that the scroll was for him.
Their Majesties then wished to thank a large group of people who had
assisted Them during Their reign, and handed the herald a LONG list of
individuals to call in. The following gentles were called before the
throne to receive an Undine from their Mahesties:
Lady Emeludt Hänsler, Mistress Rosalind Delamere, Lady Berengaria of
Leighton Buzzard, Countess Lynette Semere, Lady Alys d'Avignon,
Eilionora inghean an Bhaird, Mistress Alyna of the Ilex, Countess
Aryanna Hawkyns, Alaric Messer, Lady Sydney Talbot, Juliana ad Aguam,
Mistress Graçia Esperança de Sevilla, Lady Jacintha of Highland Foorde,
Lady Jora i Holti, Lady Cellach Mór, Baroness Ysane de la Selle, Lady
Andromeda Xanthia, Mistress Kari Kyst, Lord Estienne Le Mons d'Anjou,
Lord Dreux d'Anjou, Lady Alienor de Bathe, Maria Chiara Datini, Lady
Alexandria Wright, Mistress Maddalena Jessamyn de Piemonte, Lord
Benjamin Lilje, Baroness Ariel Benne Douw, Sir Ragnarr rifsbrjótr, Lady
Lilit of Stierbach, Lady Jane Alexandria Fitzpatrick, Lady Daniela
Schwartzhaupt, Lady Aemilia Rosa, Meisterin Gisela vom Kreuzbach.
After the dispersal of the previous crown, Their Majesties had Lady
Yenyega de Santurci summoned before them, and corrected a long overdue
oversight by making her a Court Baroness. This is not an award that
Their Majesties give often, so this is high praise for Baroness
Yenyega! Their majesties presented her with the cutest "princess"
coronet with pink decoratives on it to wear today, with the expectation
that Her Excellency would find a more suitable coronet for future events.
Their Majesties then arose from Their thrones and began a discussion
regarding the next award that was to be given. It appears that there
was dissension between Them as to the actual award being given. Much
posturing and glaring between the King and Queen commences, including
the calling forth of Their respective Champions. In the end, to avoid
bloodshed, His Majesty the King graciously deferred to His beloved
Queen, and allowed her to call forth Baron Connor Levingestoune, to
receive the Order of the Nonpariel, an award for exceptional service to
the Crown, and one that is awarded only once per reign.
Their Majesties then thanked Their Champions, and released them from
service. .
Sir Christoph Krieger appeared at the back of the hall and strode
forward, informing Their Majesties that his Highness Prince Logan had
come to claim his throne. Their Majesties invited Prince Logan before
Them. Words were exchanged between King Michael and Prince Logan. The
King then turned to his beloved Queen, and a tender moment between them
occurred, as His Majesty removed the crown from his Queen's head.
Prince Logan came forward and turned to face the assembled populace as
Michael, King of Atlantia removed his crown and held it high, before
placing in on the head of His heir. With the permission of his Majesty
King Logan, Duke Michael and Duchess Seonaid stepped away from the
thrones and passed among the populace to loud cheers!
King Logan then spoke of needing a Queen to rule by His side. The
herald then invited Her Royal Highness, Princess Esa, to come into
court. Accompanied by music and led by rapier fighters who formed an
arch of swords for Her to pass through, the Princess came before the
thrones and received her due as King Logan crowned her His Queen. The
halls resounded with cheers for the new King and Queen of Atlantia!
Before Their Majesties seated Themselves on the Royal Thrones, King
Logan spoke of fealty and oaths, and had the Great Officers of State to
come forward and swear their fealty on the Great Sword of State.
Following the Great Officers, the Landed Barons and Baroness' in
attendance were summoned before Their Majesties to swear fealty as well.
With the technicalities now taken care of, Their Majesties seated
Themselves upon the thrones and addressed the populace, thanking them
for their support and well wishes.
Their Majesties explained that They only had 1 item of business They
wished to take care of before closing Their Court, and thus They had
Lady Margherita Battista called before Them. Speaking fondly of Lady
Margherita's work on period dance, and especially her expertise in the
field of 16th century Italian Dance, Their Majesties were minded to give
her a Writ summoning her to a future event where she is expected to sit
vigil and contemplate elevation to the Order of the Laurel!
Their being no further business, Their Majesties did close Their court,
and processed out among the cheering populace.
Thus ends my report of the final court of (now) Duke Michael and Duchess
Seonaid, and the coronation and first court of King Logan and Queen Esa
at the Coronation of King Logan and Queen Esa.
All information is correct and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
I remain,
in Service to Crown and Kingdom,
Cian Triton
Principal Herald of Atlantia.
