Announcing a Heather Dale House Concert at 7pm on 10 March!
Francis Bean and Azenari Basandere are hosting a house concert with
Heather Dale and Ben Deschamps on Saturday, 10 March. For those who
haven't heard them play before, you're in for a real treat. They are
both phenomenal musicians and entertainers par excellence. They play
a mix of SCA and folk music. If you've never heard them before,
here's a pair of my favorite pieces. (Click for the music; I have no
idea who assembled the video collage.) **
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfOeANDsXbA ["Joan," a tribute to Joan of Arc]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFZGATwiGeM ["One of Us," a well-known SCA song]
We need people to RSVP very soon we can let Heather and Ben know
whether it's worth the stop. (We'd also like to have some idea what
we'll need to supply in munchies, chairs, etc.!) Right now we have
only 3 RSVPs, and that's pretty sparse. I know, it's right after St
Urhos and right before Gulf, but it's so very worth it!
The way the house concerts work is that Heather and Ben stop in during
a cross-country trip and play a series of house concerts between major
gigs. This is their last stop on the way to Gulf Wars, so you can
catch them here in Winston-Salem before seeing them again at the Green
Dragon at Gulf!
The House Concerts are a suggested donation of $10-$15. This is not a
required admission fee, but it goes directly into Heather and Ben's
pockets for travel expenses and makes these tours possible. We will
have munchies and (non-alcoholic) beverages available. Heather and
Ben will have CDs for sale for those who just can't get enough.
Our address:
4011 Ebert Rd
Winston-Salem, NC 27127
Google Maps works very well, as does Bing.
Note: if anybody wants to pass this along to the Merry Rose, we'd be
much obliged!

** I don't normally link to works uploaded by someone other than the
artist, but Heather links to Youtube searches of her music from her
own website. If she's not complaining, I'll feel free to help her get
the extra publicity!
