<br></div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">War of the Wings was started six years ago as a competition between the Baronies of Sacred Stone and Windmasters' Hill, along with their respective allies, and has grown to be one of the largest events held in the Kingdom of Atlantia. This year's principle opponents are the Baronies of Black Diamond and Raven's Cove versus the Baronies of Sacred Stone and Hawkwood.</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)"><br></div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">There will be several A&S Competitions to help display the knowledge, creativity and skill of members of the principle baronies and their visitors!</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)"><br></div><div><font color="#cc0000"><b>On Friday</b></font><font color="#000099">, there will be a poetry competition, sponsored by the current Poeta Atlantiae. The poems submitted should be themed around a battle between any of the symbols of the principle baronies (a diamond, raven, phoenix or hawk). Documentation is not required, but is preferred.</font></div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)"><br></div><div><b><font color="#cc0000">On Saturday</font></b><font color="#000099">, there will be a novice competition. THE WINNER OF THIS COMPETITION WILL WIN A WAR POINT FOR THEIR SIDE OF THE WAR!!!! This is a competition for individuals who have been practicing their craft for less than a year. This doesn't mean that the entrant needs to be a newcomer as they could be an experienced anachronist exploring a new area! No documentation is required for this competition, nor will documentation be graded.</font></div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)"><br></div><div><b><font color="#cc0000">Also on Saturday</font></b><font color="#000099">, there will be a scroll blank competition. THE WINNER OF THIS COMPETITION WILL WIN A WAR POINT FOR THEIR SIDE OF THE WAR!!!! Both quantity and quality of the scroll blanks will count! All scroll blanks entered are considered donated to the barony (for baronial awards) or the kingdom.</font></div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">1) Scroll blank entries would be designated for each of the 4 principle baronies. Anyone may enter, but they must submit their entries under one of the principles.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">
2) The scroll blanks would be counted. The barony with the most gets 20 extra points on the score; the runner-up gets 15; 3rd place gets 10; last gets 5.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">3) Each of the 4 principle baronages selects their favorite out of their submissions.</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">4) These selected entries get judged for quality.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">5) The extra points are counted in and a winner is determined.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">
<br></div><div><b><font color="#cc0000">On Sunday</font></b><font color="#000099">, the War of the Wings Pentathlon will be the feature of the day! This is a great opportunity to do a test run for entries that you're preparing for <a href="http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/event_info.php?event_id=b5a98978" target="_blank">In a Phoenix Eye</a> later in the year!</font></div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">Rules:</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Each participant must enter five items as their entry for judging.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Each participant must enter at least four different categories.</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Only participants who are attending War of the Wings may enter.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Entered items may not have won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any other A&S competition.</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Each item must have been created within the last 5 years.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">* Separate ocumentation is required for each item.</div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">
The categories are: </div><div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">Costuming, Costuming for Combat (Includes horse barding), Accessories (No headwear), Headwear, Counted Embroidery, Non-Counted Embroidery, Beadwork (Does not include jewelry), Non-Woven Fabric (Sprang, knitting, felting, etcetera), Weaving, Cord-Making, Spinning, Dyework, Leatherwork, Woodwork, Metalwork, Jewelry, Glass, Pottery, Bone or Horn, Calligraphy, Illumination, Heraldic Display, Book Arts, Cooking, Herbalism, Beers/Ales/Lagers, Meads, Wines, Cordials, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Carving, Period Science, Household Goods, Toys & Games, Written Prose, Written Poetry, Miscellaneous</div>
<div style="color:rgb(0, 0, 153)">I AM LOOKING FOR JUDGES FOR THIS COMPETITION. It will be one round, performer’s choice. It will actually be two contests in one - there will give a prize for Best Overall and a prize for Best Novice (performing less than one year).
