Quite fortunately he was very close to a medical facility. They <br>> performed a 6.5 hour surgery and applied a synthetic graft to repair. <br>> Wednesday afternoon they did a second surgery to clean and close his <br>> chest (which they left open after the first surgery to monitor things <br>> and prepare for the second procedure while keeping him in an induced <br>> coma). The Doctors said that with the second surgery, Michael's <br>> greatest danger was passed and his prognosis was very significantly <br>> improved.<br>> <br>> He should've been taken off the respirator tonight some time. I am <br>> hoping to hear back from Barb soon and will again update folks when I <br>> hear more. He is currently at a Hospital in Jacksonville Florida <br>> where he was at a training session for work.
