<DIV>Greetings all, </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> The Canton of Sudentorre has been invited to
participate in Stafford County's Discovery Days Festival (<A
href="http://www.DiscoveryDaysFest.com">www.DiscoveryDaysFest.com</A>) that
celebrates the 400th anniversary of the settling of Jamestown. The
<EM>Godspeed</EM> will be sailing on the Potamac River and laying anchor off of
Aquia Landing beach and park, in Stafford Co (just north of Fredericksburg, VA).
</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> We will have a small encampment portraying what
life was like between 1600 -1610. We will have a tent set up like the interior
of a middle class home, inhabited by us doing things of that time (blackwork,
box loom, workbench...). We will have a tent for classes/hands on demonstrations
for the festival goers. We will have a tent for dress up, games, and getting
pictures taken. We will be dancing, playing music, juggling, and such.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> If any of your peoples would be interested in
joining us in portraying how life was in the times of Elizabeth I and James I,
they are welcome to join us. Dates for the Festival are Saturday and Sunday,
August 19 and 20th, 10am - 8pm, open to the public. Setup is friday morning, Aug
18, and "VIP" opening and preformances are that friday afternoon 2 pm-7pm.
The ship actually lays anchor thursday night or friday am. The site is
Aquia Landing (not the subdivision, Aquia Harbour). It is located off I 95. Exit
at the Stafford Courthouse exit, and go east, crossing Rt 1 at Stafford
Courthouse. This is Courthouse Rd. You will be following signs for the VRE
(Virginia Rail Express) commuter train station. Courthouse Rd has a sharp turn
right and the road changes to Andrew Chapel Rd. Pass Brooke Fire and Rescue
station, go under a RR bridge and turn right onto Brooke Rd. Take the next Right
into the VRE parking lot. The site has VERY limited parking, so they
have arrange suttle buses from the parking lot to the site every 15 minutes. We
have crash spaces available. Folks interested can contact me at cell phone (540)
809-6404. I will be at pennsic (at the Stierbach encampment) from Wednesday
9th,to wednesday 16th, so I will be a bit out of touch, but will get back to
folks when I can.</DIV>
