<P>The calculator adds three feet to each side of the tent for fire safety. A 10x12 tent is figured as a 13x15= 195. However, the Penssic rule is "3 feet fabric to fabric, with no ropes touching." </P>
<P>You can mostly likely reduce the three feet from a tent with no ropes, so long as it is surrounded by tents with ropes. If a none rope tent is next to another none rope tent, they must be three feet apart at the sides adjacent to one another. </P>
<P>However, I would check with Pennsic Safety for clarification first on the rope phrase of the rule and as well I'm not sure if the Barony Calculator is set up to create a narrow walkway between tents, so one does not have to step over ropes.<BR><BR>Seamus O'Maoliriain</P></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>>Yes, but I'm finding that people who have 10x12 mundane tents -- no extra space needed for ropes -- are being told that they're over their allotted space. How is this being figured? That's 120 square feet by my calculator.

<DIV></DIV>>You're not taking into account that everyone has to give up 75 sq. ft. of
<DIV></DIV>>their 250 for the camp's common area. That only leaves you with 175 sq. ft.
<DIV></DIV>>which means that if your tent fits into 250 sq. ft. exactly, you now have
<DIV></DIV>>to buy a ghost so your tent fits, or bring a smaller tent.
