To all those who may wish to say goodbye to Shaitan...
Please share this with those who are interested.

The memorial celebration party is happening at the neighborhood
mansion in Roanoke.

Saturday, March 8th at Mountain View Center, located at 714 13th St. S.W.
It will be from 5-9 officially but we have the place until midnight
because we will linger but want people to feel like they can come and
go as they want.
The family and friends in town will be responsible for food, beer and
wine and sodas, mixers. Bring your own Liquor.
We will have music, food and a good time sharing our memories of Gregg.
If people have photos, quotes or famous sayings to share, please send
them to his sister at makena at lynchburghumane.org so they can be
appreciated

This is what is on the Mountain View Neighborhood Association facebook
page from his friends in Roanoke.

Mountain View Neighborhood Association is sad to report the loss of
our founding president, Gregg Ervin, who died suddenly on Saturday,
February 22, 2014, from a heart attack. This is a great loss to
family, friends and neighbors, and our sorrow knows no words.

Gregg, instrumental in organizing MVNA in 2009, was a watchdog and a
bulldog when it came to improving our neighborhood. His continued
vision, vigilance, activism, and outspoken leadership have been key in
major positive changes and perceptions of our historic neighborhood.

Gregg died during an event of the Society for Creative Anachronism in
Reidsville, N.C. He spent a warm, sunny afternoon instructing younger
members of the SCA, an international organization dedicated to
researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century
Europe. Gregg, a skilled craftsman and high-ranking SCA leader,
collapsed after experiencing heartburn-like symptoms. He was 50.

We are planning a celebration of Gregg's life for the evening of
Saturday, March 8, at the Mountain View Center, located at 714 13th
St. S.W. In lieu of flowers, Gregg's family asks that donations be
made to MVNA. Please check the MVNA site and our Facebook page for
more details in coming days.

With sorrow,
Juliana and Aldemere
