fellow fiber enthusiasts. This is a free event, but please call us at

We still have a few openings in the Beginning Wheel Spinning class this
Monday. If you have drop spindle experience, and are ready to take the
next step, this class is for you!

Beginning Wheel Spinning – $30 + $10 supply fee
*Monday, June 3 – 7 pm to 9 pm*
Learn the parts of the spinning wheel, how to spin S and Z singles, and
determining the gauge of your handspun yarn. Spinning wheels provided, but
feel free to bring your own. Drop spindle, or some previous wheel
spinning, experience required.* Limit 8 students*
*
*
*Basic Plying on the Wheel – $30 *
*Monday, June 24 – 7 pm to 9 pm*
Just like spinning a consistent single takes practice, so does creating a
balanced two ply yarn. Learn the basics of spinning two ply, as well as
Navajo plying with one single. Demonstration of Andean plying, a method of
creating a 2 ply yarn from one bobbin, will also be included. We will also
discuss the qualities these different methods provide, and using them in
your knitting projects. *Bring two bobbins of contrasting handspun
singles. Wheels provided, but feel free to bring your own with an empty
bobbin for plying. Limit 8 students*
*
*
*Chop Suey Yarn – $45*
*Saturday, June 29 – 1 pm to 4 pm*
In this stash-busting class we’ll combine a variety of fibers from similar
color families into a harmonious batt that can be used for a larger
project. Guidance will be provided in this hands-on workshop while
weighing and blending fiber lengths, textures, and colors to provide the
best results, and most effective drum carding. Use any fiber in your stash
whether carded roving, combed top, or washed but unprepared locks. Several
ways to spin from a batt will also be demonstrated. Get that fiber out of
your bins and spin it into beautiful blended yarn! Drum carders and scales
will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. *SUPPLIES: Fiber of any
type and preparation in similar colorways, pencil or pen*

inspiration for new projects. Bring your questions, or just sit and spin.
All levels are welcome!

6/19!
