[Ponte Alto] Ponte Alto Baronial Court Report - Tournament of Love and Beauty - February 23, 2013

[Maestra Cassandra Arabella Giordani]

Greetings!

The following items of business occurred in the court of Their Excellencies, 
Drogo and Adina, Barone e Baronessa di Ponte Alto, in afternoon court at 
Tournament of Love and Beauty, held the 23rd of February, 2013, being the 47th 
year of the Society:

Their Excellencies thanked those present for coming out to the event.  Their 
Highnesses Atlantia were invited to address the populace.  His Highness 
indicated that He enjoyed the fighting, and Her Highness displayed a lovely 
basket presented to Her by the children.  Their Highnesses then thanked Their 
Excellencies for being excellent hosts for the day.

Speaking of children, Their Excellencies requested the presence of the children 
of Atlantia.  Baron Siegfried Sebastian Faust, holder of the toy basket, was 
given a slight head start before the children were given leave to chase - that 
is, choose a toy.

Theresa O Cahir was awarded the Ponte d'Oro for her service to the Barony, 
especially cord making for tokens and serving as Baronial Chronicler.

Their Excellencies requested Baron Marcellus Capoziello da Napoli, the Baronial 
Artisan, to retain his post as champion, which he accepted.

Their Excellencies then requested the presence of Maestra Cassandra Arabella 
Giordani, the Baronial Bard, and released her from service.  Maestra Luce Antony 
Venus was then called in, and accepted the post of Baronial Bard.

Their Excellencies then asked all those who were attending their first event 
today to come forward.  Her Excellency presented the newcomers with flowers as a 
token of their first event.

Maîtresse Belphoebe de Givet, the marshal in charge, was called up to present 
the tournament results.
     Armored winner: Duke Ragnar Blackhammer
     Rapier winner: Lord Alric the Mad
The winners were presented with chalices of chocolate and wreaths of flowers, 
which they each bestowed upon their ladies.

Their Excellencies then noted that it was tax season, and asked if Their 
Highnesses would accept Ponte Alto's taxes on behalf of Their Majesties.  A 
basket of chocolate was presented to Their Highnesses, who assured all that some 
portion of the taxes would reach Their Majesties.

Lady Sophia van der Werken was retrieved from the kitchen to be inducted into 
the Order of the Garland for her many years of service to the Barony.

This concluded the business of Their Excellencies of Ponte Alto.
