Subject: [MR] Period Fiber Arts Day in Spiaggia Levantina

Come join Spiaggia Levantina on Sunday, April 21, for a day all about
period Fiber Arts skills!

Throughout the day, we will experiment with natural dyeing, trying out at
least 5 different dyestuffs on a range of different fibers, to see what
kind of colors we can get!  At a minimum, we will be dyeing with black
walnut hulls, onion skills, red cabbage, madder and cochineal, with a
possibility of two or three other dyestuffs.  Each participant will get to
take home swatches of each dyebath we test.  In addition, we will be dyeing
hanks of embroidery thread, which will be available for purchase as an SCA
fundraiser.

If you aren't necessarily interested in trying your hand at natural dyeing,
we are also fortunate enough to have Mistress Mary Isabel of Heatherstone
joining us to teach some tablet weaving skills!

These activities will all take place at my house, starting about 10:30
a.m..  The address is 11972 Robyn Lane, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
