Cousins settle their grievances.

Yesterday at the Coronation of King Bryan II and Queen Brianna II
there was an unfortunate "incident"....
The details of the situation are a bit fuzzy but this is what I have been
able to figure out...

At some point around 12th Night this year there was an insult felt by
the Coronets of Marinus and Nottinghill Coill. One towards the other.
I have not been able to gain more info from either side. Both sides are
saying that such things are not discussed in polite company.
After a bit of discussion the coronet seemed to put their differences
aside for the greater good of the Kingdom and their own populaces.

But then yesterday, there was another issue. This time more than just words.
There was apparently an item that may or may not have been taken from
the Baronial Pavilion of Nottinghill Coill, by a populace member of
the Barony of Marinus.
One side says it was stolen. The other says that the lady saw the
valuable item out in the open and feared for it's safety and put it in
a safer place.

The pavilions of these two groups being side by side caused tensions
to grow throughout the day. I personally sat with populace from both
Baronies and the Coronets as well in the late afternoon as friends and
tried to calm them both and restore their good feelings for each
other. I enlisted a good number of the populace from other groups in
the efforts. While they were both perfectly cordial to us all the rift
between them continued to grow.

Evening court came and Their Majesties invited their loyal Barons and
Baronesses to join them in a great court. Their Majesties conducted
their business in the normal fashion calling forward worthy
individuals, the children in attendance, and those who were newest
among us. Through the court I noticed that the coronets were
exchanging a glances and whispering to their cousins seated with them.

And that is when it happened... just before Their Majesties final
piece of business.... Baroness Sara Beth and Baron William of Marinus
stood and made an urgent plea to Their Majesties. They said that there
had been an awful misunderstanding and that a member of their populace
had been wrongfully accused by the Coronets of Nottinghill Coill, at
this point Baroness Etain and Baron Geldemar of Nottinghill Coill
stood to defend themselves against the words of their cousins. Both
sides had harsh words, there were requests for help from the crown,
demands of compensation for emotional distress, and even talk of
banishment!

Their Majesties let the coronets finish their stories before asking
them if there was no way to settle this upset calmly and without such
drastic measures. Both sides were set, there was no turning them back
from their course.  They declared that they would meet in the field of
battle. It seems that once again war has come to fair Atlantia.

Their Majesties in their wisdom asked that the Baronies hold their
hostilities until after the upcoming Pennsic War in which the whole
Kingdom will need to fight as one. The Coronets agreed and decided
that they would retreat to their lands and would hold their arms until
after the harvest for the sake of their people.

With that settled our beloved Queen reminded the opposing Coronets to
remember that you make friends and allies with a "sweet" nature. She
counseled them that coronets and even crowns can be swayed be a
"honey"ed tongue. Even the King remarked on the joys of a "fruit"ful
relationship! Both sides took this as a sign that they should convince
the Crown and their fellow Coronets of the righteousness of their
claims with words and with gifts of sweet treats. Thus their upcoming
battle has been dubbed... WoWVII: Just Desserts!
