Greetings all…
Wanted to send out a reminder about fun A&S activities at the Lochmere
Midwinters Revel this weekend, 1/15/2011.
All are invited to participate in four different arts and sciences
competitions. Artisans may also display items without entering the
competition.
(1) Medieval Sweets: The assembled populace will vote on their preferred
sweets from among those entered. Participants should provide a fair portion
for the good gentles of the Barony to taste; recipes and documentation
strongly advised and appreciated.
(2) Medieval Winter: Participants should enter anything with a winter theme
that falls within the Medieval period. All media allowed; documentation is
strongly encouraged. One prize will be awarded for the best entry by any
member of the assembled populace.
(3) Medieval Toys: Participants of all ages are encouraged to submit a
Medieval toy with documentation. Each entrant will receive a token; there
will be 5 prize categories. Sponsored by Magistra Sigrid Briansdotter.
(Additional information to on website.)
(4) Performing: Performing artists (individuals and ensembles) are invited
to participate in the “Popular Choice Performance Competition” as well as a
non-competitive performance showcase. Performance pieces may be from any SCA
period, genre, and/or region. Documentation is encouraged. Each performance
should be no longer than 15 minutes; more time may be allotted depending on
the number of performers. If you are interested in performing, please sign
up for a time slot at troll or speak with the Autocrat (Lady Lena von
Ossebrugge)
