[Ponte Alto] Mead question

While the mead is filling, lift the bottle to just below the level of the
host container. As the bottle gets clost to full, lift it above the level of
the host container and the flow will slow or stop.

Anyone have advice on operating  the siphon to avoid waste.It's the pump
kind with a hose, and I don't quite know how best to stop it before it
overflows the bottle.
