 Wonderful start. But do not try to do it alone, that is the easiest way to burn out, I know. Also I know that The mix of fighters will always change. You will lose 6 out 10 new people for various reasons, this has always been true in the SCA.
 If you can get the mall demo try to bring the fencers in and the artisans to display some things, fresh blood is the life of the SCA. All parts of the Barony need to grow for the health of the Barony.
 I am serious about not doing it alone. Make sure you talk to the other fighters all the time about recrument till it gets into their thick heads that the more people at practice the greater the pool of fights that night. 
 I wish I could help but with no car I have no good way to get around. 
 So go get them Lucas.

          Your words are inspiring, and kind. Thank you brother. 

          The Baronial forces that remain are strong, and several have been practicing all winter. It's natural that numbers would suffer after our principal commanders had to relocate, as well as several other fighters. Cosimo, we will not ever have the same people on the field again. But we may have an equal number of newer fighters mixed with veterans. 

          We have one promising brand new fighter, several transplants, and I'm starting to see practices fill up again. We also have several fighters who travel to our practices because they know the quality of Ponte Alto's warriors.

          To Sir Guy's point, I have begun recruiting on my own. There are now several SCA posters up in the Fair Oaks mall, and mall management is deciding the details on allowing us to stage a demo. More on that if it materializes. It will be after Pennsic.

          I will take this time to let everyone know about our Pre-Pennsic Melee practice and party, coming up on Saturday, July 24th at Tyson's Pimmit Park. Blackspear and House Hedgehog have already committed to coming down. This is our final opportunity to practice together before Pennsic. I know everyone will be busy preparing, but drop your  packing list for a few hours and come fight! Afterwards, there will be a party at our house. Details are in the facebook event I sent to many of you. When the date is closer I will post details here as well. If you have any questions, please contact me. 

         HRM Jason has plans for us at Pennsic. We will be in the thick of it again. And it will be so much fun!

Good Ponte Alto, You welcomed me with open arms.  You made it clear that you welcomed everyone!  HL Lucas is a right and noble man, a fighting man, and a warrior of no small word fame!  I do not believe that your great Barony has it in you to not seek out those worthy and ready to learn the sword's ways.  In fact, I know that you each, fine gentles, are some of the most welcoming and instructive in the Knowne World.

I spent but a small time in your midst before betraying my viking roots and spiriting one of your warrior women away back to An Tir.  But do not think I do not cherish the times I spent in your Barony, and think fondly on the words and deeds you each showed and represented!  At each event, I raise my horn to you; I have never, ever seen such a Barony when it came to recruiting the fyrd, laying mail on the shoulders of those eager to learn, and handing the slightest, most timid person a sword and teaching them to crush their foes.

Your recruitment skills are legendary, Ponte Alto.  Your word fame reaches ears even out here.  Your warband is mighty, your soldiers are brave, and I would carve each of you the hero's portion at any feast where we met.  Go forth and spread your numbers!  I know there are those who would answer Sir Guy's call.  I myself have used your fliers here in the harsh cold of Wealdsmere's lands, and seen what fruits they bear.  I have spoken to our newer fighters the way you have taught me, and have pushed for more public areas in which to recruit the bold.  Our baronial troops swell, and not just in their mead-laden guts, but in their number!  You have taught me, Ponte Alto, and I know you will continue to teach those who pass through your lands.

I am a subject of An Tir, but I know recruiting skill when I see it.  You and yours have it.  May you find the good souls to step up and fill the spots needed to make your numbers swell!

I look forward to seeing Pontoons at Pennsic.  Please seek me out... just by watching Ponte Alto act, I was inspired to recruit; I can find a way to express my gratitude for this, and will make every effort to achieve it.  

Stay true to your course, Ponte Alto!  You inspire me.

Gee Sir Guy I have gotten tired of Tooting that horn. Our figthers seem to have no great intrest in doing so. They have recruted slowley, but the great mass we did two years ago will never happen again. 
I wish I could be proven wrong. In fact I would love to proven wrong. I want them to prove me wrong.
But they have forgotten the lesson that Max showed us, everyone has to recuit for us to grow. So do not expect much from Ponte Alto this year. We have a Good leader in charge, but I have not seen as much support for him as he deserves.

I know I keep bringing this up every couple of months.

However now is really the time to start planning for recruitment for the fall.

Both so that we can fill up strikes classes but also to rebuild the Baronial Army for HL Lucas to weild for their Excellencies in support of the Crown,

It takes a good 6-12 months to get someone in army and kinda trained to the point were they are useful to everyone and feel like they are part of the team.

Really I think there should be two recruitment planning efforts one now for handling the fall, and another in Nov to handle the winter and spring.

Just my usual recruitment poke and 2 cents.
