I know I am late to reply on this thread but as a shoe maker I thought I have useful input
http://medievalshoes.com/ - Proper turnshoes and great quality. He keeps a stock so he may have what you want.

http://historicenterprises.biz/mens-shoes-boots-pattens-c-99_119.html - Also proper turnshoes but I think the ankle shoes are made to order

http://www.revivalclothing.com/ - Proper shape with modern stitching an shoe making with visible stitches but they last. I had a pair for years and sold them when I started making my own.

http://www.nmia.com/~bohemond/Bootshop/sca-page/sca.html - Not really turnshoes and have a rubber sole but have the shape.

Comrades,

Which vendors makes a sturdy and reasonably accurate, off-the-rack medieval ankle boot? I know there are several excellent vendors who do custom work, but I'd like to have something in time for Tournament of the Lily. I'm looking for a pattern that doesn't chain me too obviously to any one time period and where I have the option to add on a discreet modern sole.

Who should I seek out and who should I avoid?

many thanks,

Tancred
