Comrades,

Which vendors makes a sturdy and reasonably accurate, off-the-rack medieval ankle boot? I know there are several excellent vendors who do custom work, but I'd like to have something in time for Tournament of the Lily. I'm looking for a pattern that doesn't chain me too obviously to any one time period and where I have the option to add on a discreet modern sole.

Who should I seek out and who should I avoid?

many thanks,

Tancred
