Greetings Gentles of the Barony of Stierbach!

As a reminder, Saturday, January 9, 2010 will be the Stierbach's (free and nearby) version of Twelfth Night, held at the Prince William Fencing Academy in Manassas, VA.  What better way to spend the day than to go grazing through a food supply while spending time with friends? And that's no bull.

The day's heavy fighting will take the form of a White Bull Gift tourney.  Fighters are suggested to bring a gift of less than $10 in value.  This will start with a Single Elimination, single sword tourney to decide the order of choosing the gifts.  Then there will be a round robin tourney of any weapon form.  Each fighter puts his received gift on the line; the winner of each bout gets the choice of gift.

Youth fighting will be available in the first half of the day, fencing will occur pending the availability of fencing marshals.

There will be several classes offered, including classes on buttons and dancing.

People who wish to take part in a gift exchange are encouraged to bring a wrapped gift of no greater than $25 in value.  The rules of the gift exchange game will be explained the day of the event.

There will be a bardic circle in the afternoon, a performance of the Mummer’s Play by I Torii, and a Ball in the evening.

Your Barony will greatly appreciate it if you are able to bring a dish to share for about 6-8 people.  There is a refrigerator, a small microwave oven, and places to plug in crock pots.  The main dinner will be about 5:00pm, so if you are planning on bringing a hot dish, that would be the time do it.  Of course, things that can be eaten during the morning and afternoon would also be appreciated so that we all can nibble throughout the day.

No your item does not need to be "period".  You are certainly allowed to make an authentic period creation should you choose.  This is a Twelfth Night celebration, so holiday food is also welcome.

Please try to bring your feast gear as well, as that makes for a more festive atmosphere.

The schedule for the day's activities is as follows, please note that activity times will overlap, so there will be several things going on at the same time.
