[Ponte Alto] Sapphire Joust

Good morning!* *As you know, Sapphire Joust IX will be held next weekend
(May23-26) at the Amelia Fair Grounds, Tom Scott Park, in Amelia,VA.

Following our successful expedition to Blackstone Raid, the Expeditionary
Corps is once again trying to facilitate all of us getting down to Sapphire
Joust (and back home!) as efficiently as possible.

*Accommodations:*

For those who have not made plans for accommodations, we have been told
that, as of yesterday, camping is full.  The EconoLodge nearby is also
full.  There are still some rooms available at local hotels.  The closest is
the Comfort Inn, located at 419 N. Agnew Street, Burkeville.  This is about
a twenty minute drive from the site. Reservations can be made at
http://www.comfortinn.com/ or by phone at 434-767-3750.

If you are having difficulty locating a place to stay, please let us know at
expeditionary at pontealto.org, and we will do our best to help.

*Transportation:*

We have a caravan departing from Lemon Road Elementary School (7230 Idylwood
Road, Falls Church). We will meet at 6:30pm on Friday evening. The event is
only about 2.5 hours away, so we should be arriving around 9:30pm.

If you are planning to caravan with us, and/or if you need a ride to the
event, or if you have space for an extra rider or gear, please let us know
by going to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BeneficiariusMilitaribus/database,
and entering your information in the "Sapphire Joust" table in the Database
section.

*Food:*

Please RSVP for meals by going to:

Sophia has graciously offered to make us breakfast on Saturday morning! She
would like to know how many are interested, so she's sure to bring enough
food.

There will be no feast at Sapphire Joust. The Baron and Baroness of Ponte
Alto will be hosting a picnic potluck on Saturday evening. Those who wish to
join in are requested to bring a side dish or desert. Those with the last
name beginning with A-M please bring a side dish. Those with a last name
beginning with N-Z, a desert.  Jurgen and Flora will provide hot dogs and
soda.

For Sunday dinner we will go to Buster's Steak House. They will open
especially for us, as they are usually closed on Sunday. I have to let the
owner know a head count by the end of the week. If the head count is under
20 people we might have to find another spot.
