[Ponte Alto] MD Sheep and Wool and Spinning

I'm going to sheep and wool festival this weekend.  I was hoping to take a
beginning class in drop-spinning, but I didn't see any on the schedule.  

Are there any spinners on the list who'd be willing to advise me on what to buy
to get started (and then show me how to use it sometime)?  I've done carding
and combing for other spinners, but I don't know anything about buying fleece
or what kind of spindle is best to start.

And if anyone who isn't going to crown would like a ride to Sheep and Wool, I'm
going after my final exam on Saturday morning (most likely) or after church on
Sunday. I drive a small station wagon and have room for 4 very friendly
passengers or 3 who like to ride in comfort.  I live in Falls Church and my
class is in Annandale.
