Lady Lucia,

Please consider my assistance with water bearing for Chalice. I'll be
arriving closer to Noon on Saturday, however.

Do you need oranges, pickles, etc.?

Lady Isabella

Greetings oh great and generous Pontoons!

We are in need of volunteers for the following:

1) We need volunteers to assist with waterbearing. Waterbearing is a
great
way to help out at an event when you don't want to make a big
commitment,
you like watching the fighting, and you want to meet new people. We
will
have gallon jugs and a cooler and cups avilable. Fighters LOVE
waterbearers.

2) We need volunteers for set up and clean up. Folks wanting to help
with
set up should arrive on site anytime after 3 p.m. We need to set up
tents
on the list field and some other things.

Folks wanting to help with cleanup will have my UNDYING gratitude.
Please
be on site by 10 a.m. Sunday morning. We'll need to clean up cabins and
make sure the site is shipshape to pass the park's inspection at noon.

3) I need 3 folding tables for the list field -- one for the MoL's, one
for
Archery, and one for the Waterbearing tent. Ideally, tables will be on
site
by Friday evening.

Please respond immediately if you are willing to help out.

Many thanks,

Luce Antony Venus
Autocrat, Chalice II

A reminder that the theme for this year's Chalice Bardic competition is
Songs of the Sea. Judging will consider how closely your piece is to
time
period and theme.

Registration will open by 10 am in the Feast Hall. Documentation *must*
be
turned in at this time. This year you will be able to pick a time slot.
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your chosen time. We will do our best
to
stay on time. Last years competition ended very late due to the large
number
of participants. Please try to keep performances to 5 minutes. You may
need
to consider editing longer ballads.

I am also in need of one or two scribes to help with registration and
tallying the judging forms.

YIS,

Lady Perronelle la peintre

The bardic competition theme is "of the sea" and/or "sea-faring", rather
than songs of the sea. We do not mean to imply that the only kind of
acceptable entry is musical! Storytellers and poets are most certainly
welcome, as well as other non-musical performances.

Are sea related songs or pieces valid too?

Yes, musical and non-musical pieces alike, relating to the sea, are what
we
are looking for.

And when Lady Perronelle says she seeks "scribes," pleaes be aware that
she
means note-takers, not specifically "scribes" in the C&I/scrolls sense
of
the word. Just folks to help out with writing down what needs to be
captured on paper for registration and tally purposes.

Hope that clears up any confusion....

Greetings to all my friends in Stierbach and Ponte Alto,

I have an extra self-inflatable double bed air mattress used only twice
taking up unnecessary space in my household with 5 children. This might
prove to be a bit more comfortable than the padded shelves in the cabins
at Chalice. It has its own dufflebag. Just plug in (cabins have
outlets), and *poof* you're ready to sleep on air. If you would like to
e-mail me off-list, I can leave it at Troll (we will be arriving late
Friday evening) with your name on it.

Disclaimer. I wish not to be held responsible for anyone accused of
witchcraft for having such a device in Medieval times, please. :)

Best wishes- Alestra
