In terms of leather, legal weight is 8 oz.  You don't
want to quilt leather as you won't be able to feel
your blows and people will think that you are
rino-hiding.  But 8 oz leather will do the trick quite
nicely, and it is legal.

I am also very interested in obtaining white kid for
gloves.  Does she have a webpage?
