Greetings from Your Baronial Warlord, Sir Thomas of Calais;
Below is the proposed battle schedule for Saturday June 12th at Highland
River Melees hosted by the Barony of Highland Foorde. For additional
information here is the link to the website: _Highland River Melees_
(http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/0406/hrm.htm)
As Highland River Melees is fast approaching here is the Heavy Fighting
Schedule
10 AM Heavy Authorizations start, in a tent if necessary
11 AM Heavy Inspections start
12 noon Triad Tourney starts- This is a bear pit tourney with only one
belt per triad. The moment one team loses the next enters. Water breaks if a
triad has three successive wins. 1 hrs
2PM Resurrection Field battle with Kings- 1\2 hour field battle with
resurrections. Each side has a King who wears a crown. Each side also has a
small castle. The castle can be destroyed by siege weapons. If the King is
killed he chooses a successor within one minute of his death. With the new King
the new King's side gets its castle back. The side that had the least kings
wins. No repeats allowed for kings. Combat archery
3PM Siege of Acre- Saladin is at the gates of Acre, just as the city is
about to fall Richard the Lionhearted arrives with a small army of heavy
infantry and crossbowmen. He desperately holds the gates until a relief army on
the way from Tyre arrives. He had 1,000 infantry, 400 crossbowmen and 52
Knights sharing 13 horses. Saladin had much, much more but none as heavily
armored as Richard's forces. Our event will have two walls with archery points and
a open gate area that must be defended. A force of Crusaders will be in
front of the gate. All of the Crusaders will have shields with the exception
of three spearmen. The Crusaders do not resurrect. Saladin's men resurrect
but have no shields. If the Crusaders hold out for ten minutes all "dead"
Crusaders come back as the relief force and resurrection ends. 1/2 hour
3:45 More field battles till no one wants more.
I hope to many of you at the event.
In service
Sir Thomas of Calais
