>From Master John Lyttleton Land-o-crat for Pennsic 33: (my comments are at
the end of his letter)

Unto Perronelle la peintre does Master John Lyttleton and staff send these
greetings.
Your group, Barony of Ponte Alto, has been assigned to N05. Our records
show that you have 48 people registered and have been
allotted 13000 sq. ft. of land in the block.

A list of the Land Agents of the groups also assigned
to your block is attached below, you can also email your neighbors
though the Pennsic land system after you log in. The links
to the new map for your block is: http://land.pennsicwar.org/maps/N05.html
Be aware that a lot of people have worked very hard to make this possible.

Most of you were assigned to your first choice. To those of you who
were not, please know that it was not an easy decision to assign
you anywhere other than your first choice. Our biggest problem
is group growth. While the membership of different groups grows
and shrinks, the land itself does not. There are a few groups
who moved off their first choice in order that their neighbors
could stay and receive the whole allotment per camper. Some of
you owe them very great thanks. They did an enormous thing,
in my eyes, and I am very grateful for their willingness
to co-operate and their dedication to the spirit which, I
believe, keeps this whole organization alive and well.

Please remember to play nicely with your neighbors. No one
should require payment in goods or services, or a reduction
in what land your group has been assigned, to camp on the
block you are assigned to. While making arrangements with
your fellow Land Agents, remember that singles camping areas
on the blocks should be easily accessible and clearly marked.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me
at land at pennsicwar.org and I, or one of my staff, will
address them.

Remember, the Land Staff does not accept bribes.
However, tribute is always graciously accepted!
Especially tribute of a white chocolate nature.
Seriously though, my staff and I hope
that your Pennsic experience is a good one.

There was much negotiation concerning land for our group this year. N18 was
over by 77 campers. (over 19,000 sq. feet) A good part of the reason was the
group from Roaring Wastes was hosting their Prince and Princess this year.
As we know, Royal encampments usually need Royal size space. :)

Master John gave all the groups an offer to move to N23 with a boon of 1000
square feet. Realizing that N23 is quite a distance from N18 I asked if any
of our alternate sites (N14,N16, N05) had room. We were given the
opportunity to move to N05 of our own choice or possibly be assigned
elsewhere. In light of our junior status on N18, we opted to go to N05. We
were also given a bonus of about 1500 sq. feet to use or negotiate with. In
addition, because of our gracious gesture in agreeing to move early in the
assignment process, our group history will reflect another year on N18 or if
we prefer 1 year on N05.

All in all it was a good negotiation, and I have only praise for Master John
and the difficult job he has. He has been more than fair with us.

YIS,
