Although Iain will not be attending Crusades, this information will be
helpful to him the next time he (or another minor) wants to attend an
event (see below).

Cheers,

Iustinos

Iustinos - would you forward this answer for me? Ilse

Belphoebe,

Iain's parent or legal guardian should sign a copy of the minor waiver
in advance of the event and send it along with Corun, who can hand it to
the Troll when they arrive. You can download a copy of the general (not
combat) minor waiver from: http://www.sca.org/docs/waivers.html or
http://mol.atlantia.sca.org/forms.html.

It is also advisable for Iain's parent or legal guardian to grant Corun
permission to seek medical aid for Iain in the event of an emergency.
Officially, this can be done by having Iain's parent or guardian
complete a legal, notarized document, such as the "Medical Authorization
for Minors" (also found at http://mol.atlantia.sca.org/forms.html)
giving Corun and other adults that accompany Iain to events this
permission. This document does not need to be left at Troll, but should
be kept with Corun during the event in case it is needed. If Iain is a
16- or 17-year-old minor practicing rapier at official SCA practices,
then his parent or legal guardian should have already completed and
notarized several of these forms before he began practicing.

In the Kingdom of Atlantia, we are still struggling with the easiest and
most effective way of implementing waiver policy, so if you have any
suggestions or further questions, please contact me at
waivers at atlantia.sca.org. You can also consult the waiver frequently
asked questions (FAQ) located at
http://seneschal.atlantia.sca.org/WaiversFAQ.htm. Thanks!
