[Ponte Alto] Alle Psallite (Choral music)

Hello, members of Alle Psallite and Ponte Alto,
I've come back from the Pennsic War having seen nothing of the battles - but
I had a GREAT time with the choir. I'm ready to jump back into choir
practices.

Alas, other choir commitments will not allow me to start up our practices
until Monday, September 16th. But please mark your calendars for that date.

In the meantime, I'm looking (again!) for commitments of who will be
participating in our local choral group. I believe making and following
through on the commitment is important: it is uncomfortable being the only
person on a part, and it's unkind to the other choir members when a person
drops in only now and then, and the rest of the group waits while drop-in
learns parts they've already struggled through.

So I ask that if you plan to participate in singing, that you truly PLAN on
it. An occasional "gotta miss" day is ok, but just occasionally showing up
isn't. We, of course, traditionally have problems with having sufficient
tenors and basses. I'm fully prepared to go forward with music that can be
done with only two or three women's parts.

I would like your input however:
1. Is there a better day than Monday for practice? (Tuesday is out, but
another day?)
2. I'm inclined to an every week practice, for consistency and to actually
have sufficient practice time to learn music, but would every other week be
more practical?
3. Is there a genre of choral music you would like us to look at?

I look forward to hearing from you! Feel free to forward this to other
local groups who might have people interested in singing with us.
Anne.
