Before the reeves, and bailiffs have time to begin<BR>
enforcement of this edict, please join the Barony of<BR>
Nottinghill Coill for a day of sports, and games.<BR>
<BR>
For your enjoyment we are offering:<BR>
The Sheaf Toss <BR>
The Stone Throw<BR>
The Caber Toss<BR>
The Tug-O-War- 3 person teams<BR>
And, Cambock-5 person teams, <BR>
With at least one Lady, or child of 13 or under<BR>
*Explanations of games attached or ask your Seneschel.<BR>
<BR>
For those less physically inclined, the hall will be<BR>
open for games of skill and chance (bring your<BR>
favorite.)<BR>
<BR>
The A&S competition will be for best period Sporting<BR>
Goods (documentation preferred), plus a non-judged<BR>
open display.<BR>
<BR>
Lord Nicodemus will be preparing a simple hearty feast<BR>
of stews (veggie/ beef & cheese to add) to be served<BR>
in bread bowls.<BR>
<BR>
Kid's Games will run by the incomparable Lady Glee of<BR>
the Abbey. There will be games available all day for<BR>
them in the game hall. They will participate in kid<BR>
size competitions for each of the adult games:<BR>
Sheaf Toss: 5 lb. Sheep toss<BR>
Stone Throw: bread toss in basket<BR>
Caber Toss: “noodle caber” toss<BR>
Tug-O-War: kids v. kids & kids v. adults<BR>
Cambock: teams are incomplete without a kid/lady & a<BR>
kid’s game<BR>

Reserve cabins early! The site is dry.<BR>

Directions: <BR>
I-85 North: Take your best route to I-85 South just<BR>
South of Charlotte NC. Take exit #8 (HWY 161 King's<BR>
Mountain) and turn left. When you reach the fork in<BR>
the road, bear right. Go 7 miles until you see the<BR>
split rail fence on your right. Turn right after the<BR>
fence in King's Mountain State Park. Take the first<BR>
paved road on your left (Group Camps, Living History<BR>
Farm). Follow the signs to Camp York. <BR>
I-85 South: Take your best route to I-85 just north of<BR>
the NC/SC border. Take exit #2 (King's Mountain<BR>
Military Park). Turn right on 216 through the Military<BR>
Park to King's Mountain State Park. Turn at the sign<BR>
for Group Camps. Follow the signs for Camp York. <BR>
*Rules and Explanations <BR>
<BR>
Cambok:<BR>
Cambok is basically Field Hockey. It will be played<BR>
with a Nerf soccer ball and modified plow handles for<BR>
sticks. Teams will consist of 5 players with at least<BR>
one player being a Lady or a child of 13 years or<BR>
younger. Each team will have a goal<BR>
to defend. Games will be won by the team with the<BR>
highest points at the time limit of the game. Games<BR>
will be single or double elimination depending upon<BR>
participation. For safety, two certified soccer<BR>
referees will be in complete charge of the field.<BR>
Ref's decisions are FINAL. Bring your own sticks, if<BR>
you have them. Extras will be available. <BR>
<BR>
Sheaf Toss:<BR>
The Sheaf Toss simulates tossing sheaves of hay into a<BR>
barn loft. The sheaf will be a 17 pound sack of rice,<BR>
thrown back over the head with a pitchfork. The days<BR>
highest toss wins. <BR>
<BR>
Caber Toss:<BR>
The Caber Toss involves pitching a long log timber so<BR>
that it rolls end over end, coming to rest at 12<BR>
o'clock from the throwers starting position. The days<BR>
most accurate toss wins. <BR>
<BR>
Stone Throw:<BR>
The Stone Throw is a simple shot made with a 20+ pound<BR>
stone for distance. The day longest throw wins. <BR>
<BR>
Tug-O-War:<BR>
The Tug-O-War will consist of 2 or 3 person teams<BR>
attempting to pull one another over a fixed point.<BR>
Tug-O-War bouts will be single or double elimination,<BR>
depending upon participation<BR>
