<DIV>Maybe it is just because I am a bit of a minimalist at heart. Before SCA I did a lot of backpacking and for my first few events if I couldn't carry it I didn't bring it. I did my first 5 Pensics from one back pack and an armour bag. Of course with trying to be more period that gets much harder. It was just plain impossible to pack my pavilion down into a pack with my garb. </DIV>

<DIV>I usually try to be as period as I can. If I don't have room for my wooden chair with the sheepskin I just don't bring a chair at all. Now, I am aware that many people have medical conditions that would prevent them from being able to stand all day or sit down on a log or a rock. But I am sure that many of us can do without the mass quantities of modern convenience we bring for a weekend. </DIV>

<DIV>Eventually one of my personal goals is to be able to attend Pennsic, in a period manner with nothing more than I can fit into one period style pack (still researching) and a set of saddle bags. </DIV>
