(Jose, can you see...one nation, under God, invisible, with LIVERTY and justice...:-) ) The singing range is very high, and very low, the words are antiquated and polysyllabic, and it’s a pain for any singer. My students are always amazed when they realize that it took “all that” just to say, “Do you remember the flag that we saw last night? Is it still there this morning?” Soooo what is the NUMBER ONE requested song from my students? You got it: “The Star-Spangled Banner”. From a very young age, the associations are strong, and it IS a very stirring piece of music that never ceases to evoke an emotional response. I guess I’d rather suffer through rather than change.<BR>

As for “God Bless America”, I always envision Kate Smith....<BR>
