[MR] BBC: Arundel Mystery Tower

Noble friends,

I just stumbled across this BBC story about a mysterious mini-castle near
Arundel in Sussex, England, officially known as the Hiorne Tower.

It is not truly medieval, but an absolutely delightful "folly" built in the
late 18th century. It was done as a demonstration piece by architect
Francis Hiorne who hoped to win a contract to restore nearby Arundel
Castle. Sadly for Hiorne, he didn't get the contract and went bankrupt
building the tower.

How cool is all that? Just what every Scadian dreams of owning! As an added
bonus, the tower is said to be haunted.
