Noble friends, especially Vikings:

How do you move a 1,200 year-old Viking ship without tearing it to pieces?
Answer: Very, very carefully.

The three historic ships in Oslo's Viking ship museum were beginning to
deteriorate from the vibrations and temperature changes their popularity
was bringing. So they are being moved to a new climate and
vibration-controlled addition to the museum. The Oseberg ship was the first
to move, requiring 10 hours to make the 328-foot journey. It  was
supported in a cradle suspended from an overhead rail. The other ships,
Gokstad and Tune, will follow.
