Noble Friends,

Yesterday the History Blog reported on the new lighting scheme for the 5th
century Santa Sabina Church in Rome.

This church is the oldest Roman basilica in the city, and retains much of
its original architecture. Being this old, it has very small windows, and
the interior has always been dark. But dark no more. A new illumination
state-of-the-art system now highlights the features of this amazing
building.

The story is accompanied by a brief and very charming film in which the
lights of the sanctuary come on successively, revealing the church's
beauty one step at a time.
