Noble Friends,
Yesterday the BBC reported that Baguley Hall, an intact 14th century manor
house in Greater Manchester, will be transferred to a local historical
trust and restored.
The oldest part of the Grade 1 listed Baguley Hall was built around 1320
for Sir William de Baguley. Original parts of the Hall are of
wattle-and-daub construction. Additions were made at the later medieval
period, and two wings were rebuilt in brick during the 17th and 18th
centuries.
The building is in poor condition, and will be stabilized so it can be
opened to the public. Among the amenities to be added will be all-important
modern toilets.
The BBC story is found at https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crk7482vd4go .
