Noble Friends,

Today I have just posted a new story to the Mallard Lodge Household
Blog. The topic is modern shoes that can pass for SCA footwear, along with
some lessons I learned the hard way about shoes and boots. There is useful
information here on both men's and ladies' footwear, especially cautions
for newcomers. Even if you don't agree with my recommendations, at least I
hope you will enjoy my rather self-effacing humor. We should all be able to
laugh at our own fiascoes.

The article was originally written as a University of Atlantia class
handout. Since it will be a while before I can teach again in-person, I
decided to share the piece with all of you through our blog. Someday I will
give the class, and will bring a whole boatload of old shoes to illustrate
my points. Until then, just enjoy the virtual lecture.
