[MR] BBC Lost Henry VIII Portrait Found in Council Hall

Today the BBC reported on the rediscovery of a lost Henry VIII portrait
hanging in a shire council hall in Warwick, England.

The painting was one of 22 known to have been painted, presumably to use as
models, for tapestry maker Ralph Sheldon in the 1590s. The collection was
later scattered and the locations of only a few are known today.

The portrait was spotted in an X post accidently by Adam Busiakiewicz, a
consultant with an unnamed auction house. The painting has since been
removed to a nearby museum for further investigation.
