Noble Friends,

While Britain's National Grid has been digging for a major energy
connector, excavators have hit over 50 archaeological sites. Recently they
stumbled across a significant 6-7th century Anglo-Saxon cemetery in
Lincolnshire.

The site contained the remains of at least 20 people, and yielded some 250
artefacts and grave goods. The most striking was a double-burial of a
high-status teenage girl next to a young child. The teen was buried with
two small gold and garnet pendants, two small blue glass beads and an
annular brooch.

Researchers from Wessex Archaeology hope to use DNA analysis to determine
relationships among the skeletons.
