Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Scots,
Today Lady Sophia called my attention to an article about a 500 year-old
fragment of a musical score. The music was found in a copy of the Aberdeen
Breviary in the National Library of Scotland. This work dates to 1510, and
is the earliest book printed in Scotland. The brevieary was created at the
behest of King of Scots James IV.
The music was matched to the Gregorian Chant *Cultor Dei, *and represents a
tenor part.
