Noble Friends,

Two days ago the History Blog feature was all about a wooden heraldic
falcon device identified with Anne Boleyn being returned to Hampton Court
Palace.

The falcon surfaced in 2019 when antique dealer Paul Fitzsimmons bought the
piece for £75. When the piece was cleaned it became clear that it was a
match for Anne Boleyn's device, and similar to decoration still extant at
Hampton Court Palace which were painted black after the Queen's tragic fall
and execution. Fitzsimmons has returned the falcon to the Palace for public
viewing on an indefinite loan.

The story is at http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/63527 .

The BBC also covered the story back in November with an additional photo at
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cryyl93xvm0o .

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
