Noble Friends, Especially Vikings (and Scots!):

Today the BBC has a brief story on the Galloway Hoard, a Viking treasure
that was found in Scotland during 2014. Selected items from the hoard are
on tour and have been displayed at Kirkcudbright Galleries in their
namesake city. The exhibition has drawn 30,000 visitors.

The Kirkcudbright story, including two very nice photos of key artifacts,
is at https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9er9kn493po .

The National Museums of Scotland, which owns the treasure, have several
interesting pages on the hoard and its significance. One of the best is at
https://www.nms.ac.uk/explore-our-collections/stories/scottish-history-and-archaeology/galloway-hoard/
.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
