Noble Friends, Especially Cooks,

While searching for carts and wagons (for a non-SCA project), I stumbled
onto a section of the Weald and Downland Museum's web pages devoted to
Tudor cookery.

Weald and Downland Museum is a living history park near Chichester, which
has preserved structures from the middle ages to the 19th century. It is
staffed by costumed docents who demonstrate what English rural life was
like during various eras. Some of Lucy Worsley's videos, and The Repair
Shop series, were filmed at the museum. There is also a fascinating display
of Victorian-era plumbing, including period loos. If you plan a visit to
southern England, set aside a whole day to explore this fantastic resource.
Sadly, Lady Sarah and I had less than two hours here due to our otherwise
excellent driver/guide getting lost. (Sigh!)

The Tudor cookery pages are at

. There is much more to explore on their site, including many medieval-era
buildings.

As for their carts and wagons, those shown on the web site are mostly 19th
or early 20th century. But do check out their magnificent 19th century
vardo:

Yours Aye,
