Noble Friends,

Today the History Blog reports that the entire Bayeux Tapestry has been
digitized and is now available online. The digitization was done for
conservation purposes, but has been made available to the public at
https://www.bayeuxmuseum.com/en/the-bayeux-tapestry/discover-the-bayeux-tapestry/explore-online/
.

The Blog also reports that the real tapestry will be given extensive
conservation work while the museum is closed for general repairs in 2024.

The History Blog mentions a "dedicated generator". This is a nifty program
which allows you to design your own Bayeux tapestry using paste-in graphic
elements from the original. It's a toy, but might have some interesting
graphic uses, especially for art-challenged scribal wannabes or for making
needlework patterns. Have fun with it at http://htck.github.io/bayeux/#!/ .

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
