Noble Friends,

Today the History Blog features a piece on the Høylandet tapestry, a 12th
C. church decorative piece showing biblical themes. The piece is the only
surviving example of such decorations, the rest having been lost to time
and Reformation iconoclasm.

The beautifully woven fragment and a video on the piece can be found at
http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/58168 .

Wikipedia does not have anything of interest about the tapestry, the church
(now a 19th c. wooden structure) or the municipality, except our heralds
might like to see the town's recently granted heraldic arms:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Høylandet#/media/File:Høylandet_komm.svg .
Very cool.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
