Noble Friends,

Today's History Blog entry concerns the Metropolitan Museum of Art opening
their film vaults via YouTube. The Met's Office of Cinema Works produced
educational films between 1922 and 1935, and successor offices continued
the films until 2000. The vaults contain over 1,500 rare films.

Today the History Blog is offering direct links to two of the early silent
films. THE HIDDEN TALISMAN (1928) is a short historical fictional piece,
shot in the original Cloisters museum. It is followed by A VISIT TO THE
ARMOR GALLERIES (1924). While the production values and acting in these
films may seem jerky and out of date, they were state-of-the-art (no pun
intended) for their time, and can still teach us things about the middle
ages.

Enjoy the story and the two films at

recommended.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
