Noble Friends,
New research performed on ten skeletons from the ship *Mary Rose*, has
revealed that some of the crew were of North African and Mediterranean
origin. One case closely studied showed the man to have been ethnically a
North African, but isotopes indicate he grew up near Portsmouth, England.
This suggests that Tudor England had a much broader ethnic mix that we
might have expected.
