Noble Friends,
Today the History Blog is presenting a feature on the sword of Ali Atar, a
famous Spanish Moor war lord. The magnificent sword dates from the 15th
century, and is known as a "genet", a style from the Narsid people:
http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/54720 . More can be seen at

Neither the History Blog, nor the linked website mention the blade. It
appears in the photographs to have been broken at the tip, possibly at the
Battle of Lucena in April 1483, when Ali Atar was killed at the age of 90.
Yours Aye,
Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
