Noble Friends, Especially Vikings:

Today the History Blog comments upon a large find of 9th century Danish
coins. The hoard was recovered by archaeologists near Ribe, Denmark, after
an initial coin was discovered by a metal detectorist. A total of 252 coins
were found, the majority being examples of the extremely rare deer/face
combination.

You can read the story and see some of the coins at

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
